Jayme St. John, MA, LPC-IT, SAC-IT

I am a Substance Abuse Counselor who is also trained in treating mental health issues. When it comes to treating addiction, I believe it is important to look at the person as a whole, not just their drug or alcohol use. My goal when working with clients is to help them improve their lives overall, for with balance comes wellness.

I use an integrative approach, pulling techniques from various therapeutic approaches. Some of the theories I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. I believe in approaching each client individually; what works for one person rarely works for another.

In addition to treating substance abuse, I have experience in the following areas:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress Management
  • Anger Management
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Negative Thinking
  • Self-Esteem

By creating a comfortable, supportive, and non-judgmental environment, I hope to help clients deal with current challenges in their lives, as well as learning how to deal with challenges on their own. I look forward to working with you.
